“I think the World Championships will be a different breed. Obviously he’s a fan favorite but it was the same tonight when he scored 1-1 in the first leg but I started kicking and won.”

Littler next faces Price, who defeated him in last year’s semifinals. The Welshman avoided a shock with a 6-3 victory over Japanese dance star Motomu Sakai.

Second seed Luke Humphries produced a strong performance against Abdulla Saeed, beating him 6-0, while World Championship runner-up Gian van Veen defeated Man Lok Leung 6-2.
