Just a day after controversy erupted over team owner Sanjiv Goenka’s angry conversation with captain KL Rahul, Lucknow Super Giants fast bowler Naveen-ul-Haq’s social media post has gone viral. Cameras caught Goenka having a heated exchange with Rahul after LSG’s 10-wicket defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad and the episode was heavily criticized by both online fans and various experts. Naveen posted a picture of himself with KL Rahul in Lucknow Super Giants colours, accompanied only by a ‘heart’ emoji. Although there was no direct connection to the entire episode, many fans online thought that the post could be a show of support towards KL Rahul over the entire incident.

Earlier, Indian cricket team’s fast bowler Mohammed Shami had emphasized on this topic and said that such behavior of the IPL team owner sends a ‘bad message’.

“Crores of people are watching you and learning from you. If these things happen in front of the camera and you see such reactions on the screen, then it is shameful,” Shami said on ‘Cricbuzz Live’.

,You should have a day to talk, this message goes very wrong, (You should have boundaries, a way to talk. This sends a very wrong message).”

Shami also said that this should not have been a public incident and the conversation could have taken place inside the dressing room also.

Shami said, “It is very important to keep in mind that players have respect and you are also a respectable person as an owner. It is not that you are talking suddenly.”

“If you have to do it, there are many different ways. You could have done the same in the dressing room or the hotel. It was not necessary to do it on the field.” You did not give such a reaction when I saw any red feather. (What you did was you did not hoist the flag at the Red Fort)” Shami said.
