Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) head coach Justin Langer has given an update on star pacer Mayank Yadav’s injury, saying that despite undergoing “perfect rehabilitation”, the youngster still has pain in the same area due to which he will be sidelined for three weeks. Stayed out of the field for more than . Langer further said that the young fast bowler will also be scanned. Mayank returned from Lucknow after missing five matches due to lower abdominal pain. On Tuesday, he left the field due to injury at the score of 1 wicket for 31 runs in 3.1 overs in the match against Mumbai Indians at Ekana Cricket Stadium.

“He seems to have pain in one spot, his rehabilitation has been perfect, he has bowled pain free in the last few weeks, he looks in good shape. We will have a scan and we will know tomorrow,” LSG head coach Justin Langer told the broadcasters after the match.

LSG captain KL Rahul also revealed that Mayank had approached him to complain about the discomfort he faced while bowling after the first ball of his fourth over.

“I haven’t really spoken to him. He had a little pain in his arm and after the first ball he said, ‘It hurts a little.’ He is still a young boy, it is not just the pace, he showed he has more skills than just bowling 150.

“The more he plays, the more he learns what to bowl when. Right now, we have given him free rein to enjoy himself and bowl whatever he wants,” Rahul said during the post-match presentation.

Yadav has played three IPL matches so far and taken six wickets, three each against PBKS and RCB. In the match against Gujarat Titans at the Ekana Cricket Stadium on 7 April, he was walked off the field after bowling just one over, where his pace was low and he was hit for three fours, giving away a total of 13 runs.
