West Ham midfielder lucas paqueta made an extraordinary attack on football AssociationHe accused the governing body of failing to provide him “psychological support” following his recent dismissal. liverpool,
The Brazil international received two quick yellow cards for disagreements with referee Darren England during his team’s 2-0 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday.
Paqueta’s emotional outburst came after he spent two years under FA investigation into spot-fixing allegations, in which he was accused of deliberately attempting to book.
Although cleared of charges in July, the investigation notably halted a potential move to Manchester City two summers ago.
The 28-year-old expressed his ordeal on social media platform X.

He wrote: “I understand that I now have to be exposed as the villain; it’s hard to live with all the things that have happened in my life and in my psyche! I will keep trying to make sure they don’t affect me even more. This does not justify my removal, and for that I apologize to the fans and my team-mates!”
Responding to the Sky Sports Premier League post, where co-commentator Rob Green labeled his red card “ridiculous behaviour”, Paqueta said: “To have your life and career affected for two years without any psychological support from the federation is ridiculous. Perhaps this ridiculous behavior is a reflection of everything I have had to endure and what it feels like to continue to endure! I’m sorry if I’m not right.”
The Football Association has been contacted for comment regarding Paqueta’s claims.
Meanwhile, West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo confirmed that he would discuss the incident privately with the player.
Reflecting on the match, Santo said: “It is difficult to play against a team like Liverpool with one player less. I will not go too far on comments about the situation. I hope you will understand.”
“Just allow me to talk to Lucas first and try to understand. I would like to have a private conversation, try to understand. I feel it is unfair not to make any comments without giving him a chance to speak with him.”
