Srinagar, June 12: Leader of Opposition (LOP) in J&K Legislative Assembly, Sunil Sharma called Lieutenant Governor Mr. Manoj Sinha today. He was accompanied by Mr. Shahat Sharma, President, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Jammu and Kashmir Union.
Mr. Sunil Sharma demanded the intervention of the Lieutenant Governor in the issue of Naib Tehsildar’s aspirations and requested him to request to create the working knowledge of Urdu language non-Mandari for the Naib Tehsildar examination.
He said that given the UT of the five official languages of Jammu and Kashmir, compulsory knowledge of a language violates the constitutional principles of equal opportunity and administrative impartiality, and it creates an inappropriate obstacle, especially damage to aspirations from Jammu Division.
Senior BJP leaders also requested the Lieutenant Governor to translate government documents and processes in all official languages of Jammu and Kashmir UT.
