To accelerate the progress of works on the construction of an important project of Rs 14.77 crore of Noor Jehan Bridge on Jhelum River in Qamariwari, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-day Bhat is regularly monitoring the progress on the vital project due to a long delay of the bridge.
In this regard, DC conducted several inspections at the project site to monitor the progress regularly. He is strictly emphasizing for the rapid completion of the long -pending connectivity project in the city.
Dr. Bilal is actively monitoring the progress of the project and directed the agency executed to speed up the remaining functions. Once completed, the Noor Jehan Bridge will serve as an important link between Nurbagh and Kamravari, reduce pressure on the existing cement bridge and improve connectivity in Srinagar.
During his visit, DC was informed that the important Noor Jehan Bridge in a period of 127 meters is being constructed at a cost of Rs 14.77-crores and is finally close to completion and is open to the public by 15 July 2025, which provides huge relief from traffic congestion for local residents, commutors of areas.
