Former Union Minister Suresh Pachauri on Saturday pointed out that some “political and religious” decisions prompted him to quit the party.
After formally joining the BJP, Pachauri told ANI: “I entered politics to serve the society and the country. The Congress has always been committed to creating a classless society. However, the idea was rejected today. Some decisions were taken by the Congress high command , especially on religious and political matters, brought me closer to the fringes and ultimately my resignation from the party.”
