LinkedIn, the professional social media platform owned by Microsoft, is working to diversify its offerings beyond job search and business networking. The company will reportedly add games to the platform to increase user engagement. LinkedIn will be the latest among several social media platforms, including Facebook and YouTube, to try adding in-app gaming.

According to TechCrunch ReportLinkedIn is working on introducing several puzzle-based games on the app, three of which are called “Queens,” “Inference,” and “Crosslimb.” The social media platform confirmed its gaming plans to the publication but did not reveal a release window for the upcoming game.

“We’re experimenting with adding puzzle-based games to the LinkedIn experience to unleash some fun, deepen relationships, and hopefully spark opportunities for conversation,” the report quoted a LinkedIn spokesperson as saying.

App researcher Nima Owji also found evidence of LinkedIn gaming within the app, posting screenshots on X (formerly Twitter) suggesting that companies on the platform would be ranked in the game based on their employees’ scores. The screenshots show off three games – “Blueprint,” “Queens” and “Crossclimb,” all of which appear to be puzzle-based games.

While LinkedIn confirmed plans to offer games to users, there are currently no details on the number and types of games available on the platform. These games may be available as part of a LinkedIn Premium subscription.

Earlier this month, LinkedIn disclosed For the first time, it has released sales figures for its premium subscriptions, confirming that the service will hit $1.7 billion (roughly Rs. 14,091 crore) in revenue by 2023 after the company adds artificial intelligence tools to the platform.

Last November, YouTube launched “Playables” game arcade for its premium subscribers, which includes more than 30 arcade games that can be played on the YouTube app on iOS, Android, and the web.
