Sam Rivers, bassist in nu metal band Limp BizkitHe died on Saturday, according to social media posts from his bandmates.
The band did not reveal where Rivers died or under what circumstances, but praised him as “pure magic” and a “soul in sound”.
He wrote in one group, “From the first note we ever played together, Sam brought a light and rhythm that can never be replaced.” Instagram Post. “His talent was effortless, his presence unforgettable, his heart huge.”

Rivers admitted to heavy drinking, which had caused liver disease. He left the band in 2015 and underwent a liver transplant before reuniting with Limp Bizkit three years later.
Limp Bizkit are scheduled to begin a tour of Central and South America in Mexico City in late November.
Limp Bizkit, with roots in Jacksonville, Florida, emerged in the late 1990s with a sound that combined alternative rock, heavy metal, and rap.
