Srinagar, May 07: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha today participated in a high-level meeting under the chairmanship of Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah through virtual mode. Lieutenant Governor was included by Chief Secretary Mr. Atal Dullu; Shri Nalin Prabhat, DGP J&K; Mr. Mahesh Dixit, Special Director, Intelligence Bureau (IB); Mr. Chandrakar Bharti, Principal Secretary, Home Department J&K and Mr. Pankaj Thakur, Joint Director IB at Raj Bhawan, Srinagar.
The Lieutenant Governor confirmed that the instructions and spirit of the Union Home Minister would be implemented. After the meeting, the Lieutenant Governor directed the officials to take necessary steps as per the guidelines of the Union Home Minister and to neutralize any possible threat in time. He also praised the Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for his strong leadership and vowed zero tolerance against terrorism. The meeting was held a few hours after the ‘Operation Sindoor’ of the Armed Forces, which targeted the terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan -occupied Jammu and Kashmir from where terrorist attacks against India were planned and directed.
Lieutenant Governor is closely monitoring the situation in the Jammu and Kashmir Union region and regular review of the security scenario and leads the team for the necessary tasks in the border villages and other areas.
The Lieutenant Governor appreciated the 24 accurate missile strikes of India’s three-services on nine terrorist goals in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He said that ‘Operation Sindoor’ is an incredible example of the resolve of our brave armed forces and has avenged the Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 people were brutally massacred by Pakistani terrorists.
Through “Operation Sindoor”, India has also given a message that no matter where the terrorists are hiding, our brave armed forces will find them and they will be punished for their heinous crimes. They will be punished for their heinous crimes. Training camps of terrorist groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jai-e-Mohammed, who were completely avoiding action, “Lieutenant Governor said.
The Lieutenant Governor, along with all the senior administrative, police and district officials, along with all the senior administrative, police and district officials of the Jammu and Kashmir Union area, reviewed the situation before this morning.
He reiterated that the government is fully prepared to deal with any incident. “We will ensure the safety of each citizen,” said the Lieutenant Governor.
The Lieutenant Governor has directed deputy commissioners to transfer villagers to safe places from weak areas and to ensure boarding, housing, food, medicine and transportation. He is in touch with the authorities concerned on the ground.
The Lieutenant Governor said, “The entire administration, police, CAPF and armed forces are working together. We are alert, equipped and fully prepared to respond to any situation.”
