Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday expressed deep pain over the loss of life in disastrous rain-trigger landslides in many areas of Kathua district.
Calling the tragedy as “Mind-Sunning”, the Lieutenant Governor said that his views were with bereaved families and prayed for the fast recovery of those injured. Sinha said in a statement, “I am deeply suffering from the loss of life in the destructive rain-trigger landslides in Kathua. The tragedy is adorable.”
LG said that he had informed Union Home Minister Amit Shah about the situation and ongoing relief measures. He said that rescue and relief operations are being done by the Army, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), police and local administration.
