LG Sinha congratulates people on Independence Day

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has greeted the people of J&K UT on the occasion of 79th Independence Day. In a message, the lieutenant governor wrote:

“My dear brothers and sisters of Jammu and Kashmir, on the holy occasion of our 79th Independence Day, I offer my heartiest greetings and best wishes to all of you.

While the country is celebrating the festival of independence, my heart also goes to the families affected by cloudbukes in the tactics of Kishtwar. I have been devastated by this natural disaster and express my condolences to the bereaved families. We are working with the entire government approach to bring the situation under control and provide all necessary assistance to the affected families.

Today, on this auspicious day of freedom, I provide my heartfelt gratitude to my armed forces, CAPFS and Jammu and Kashmir Police, whose eternal vigilance and security of every citizen in their challenging circumstances has entered peace to work towards the future progress, prosperity and inclusive development of this beautiful union region. I thank our armed forces, our brave soldiers, security, intelligence agencies and every personnel involved in ‘Operation Sindoor’ for their bravery and commitment to avenge the Pahgam terror attack. It is also a day to salute our brave soldiers of Army, CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir Police for ‘Operations Mahadev’ and send them best wishes for their dedication in service to the nation. India has drawn a new red line. Any function of terror will be considered a task of war and we will give a suitable response to the enemy. On this day, let us also take a pledge to thwart the efforts of terrorists, destroy the entire ecosystem of terrorism to make Jammu and Kashmir terror-free.

Today, I also expand my opposition to the socio-economic development of Jammu and Kashmir for their tremendous contribution to farmers, workers, teachers, professionals, scientists, professional communities, youth and women power. I have full faith in their abilities in the creation of a distracted India. The 21st century is a century of India and Jammu and Kashmir is deeply associated with the aspirations of our great nation. The tricolor journey is now one of our biggest festivals and has participated in every house tricolor campaign in the whole of Jammu and Kashmir. Patriotic enthusiasm and participation of men, women, youth and senior citizens is an inspiration for the country with a brilliant tricolor in UT.

Jammu and Kashmir has gained a strong development in the last five years and we have created a union area which is rich, peaceful, proper, human and considers all its citizens equal. Democracy has become stronger in the federal region. Today, Jammu Sawse is full of confidence and is ready to contribute to nation building. We are marching together with just one identity as an Indian and firm to serve Mother India until the last breath.

After independence lasting seventy-nine long years, it is time to introspect on the goals achieved so far for every section of society and consider the future curriculum of action. Pujya Mahatma Gandhiji once said about the dreams of an independent India. Gandhiji had said, “I will work for an India where the poorest people among the poor feel that this country and this nation are his and they have a major role in its construction”. In the last five years, my effort was to build Jammu and Kashmir of Pujya Gandhi’s dream. We have excelled in many areas. Kashmir is now connected to India’s rail network and Kashmir’s dream Kanyakumari rail connectivity is now a reality. Industrial development has taken deep roots. The benefits of unprecedented economic development have reached all sections of the society. Ease of life has been ensured for both urban and rural population. Women, youth and farmers have been empowered. The whole world is looking at the change of Jammu and Kashmir and it is my firm belief that with the collective participation of the people we will create a bright and peaceful Jammu and Kashmir.
