LG Sinha addresses the North Regional Conference of Legal Services Officers in Srinagar

Srinagar, 26 July: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha today organized the National Legal Services Authority, High Court of Jammu and Ladakh and Jammu -Kashmir Legal Services Authority, National Legal Services Authority, National Legal Services Authority, High Court of Z & Ladakh and Jammu -Creater service Authority, “Constituted” for the respected region of the North Region on “Defense personnel and tribals” for the tribals and tribals. Did.

The event was organized by Judge Supreme Court of India and Executive Chairman National Legal Services Authority, Shri Justice Surya Kant; Union Minister of State for Law and Justice, Mr. Arjun Ram Meghwal; Chief Justice High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, Shri Justice Arun Palli; Chief Minister, Mr. Omar Abdullah; J&K and Ladakh Judge High Court and Executive Chairman J&K Legal Services Authority, Shri Justice Sanjeev Kumar; Judge High Court Jammu -Kashmir and Ladakh and Executive Chairman Ladakh Legal Services Authority, Mrs. Justice Sindhu Sharma; General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command, Lieutenant General Pratic Sharma; Honorable Judge of Supreme Court of India and Chief Justice of various states and UTS.

In his address, the Lieutenant Governor enhanced his reputation for legal publishers, officials of the National Legal Services Authority, the High Court of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh, the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir Legal Services Authority and all those associated with the conference. He also paid tribute to the brave people of the Kargil war.

“The Constitution of India guarantees justice, social, economic and political and one of the aspects of providing justice has access to justice for all citizens and is to be ensured that justice reaches the poorest of the poor, which is the most entitled.
The justice system lies deeply in the soul of India and has played an important role for the progress of the nation. In our culture, the court is not only an office of justice, but a sacred temple of justice, dedicated to equal justice without discrimination and the legal system for all, ”said the Lieutenant Governor.

The Lieutenant Governor asked the state’s legal service officers to ensure that all possible legal aid reaches the army personnel, tribal communities, deprived and weaker sections of society to make their lives easier on time and protect their rights given by the Constitution.

The Lieutenant Governor highlighted the major structural reforms made over the years to establish social and economic justice in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Lieutenant Governor noticed that various central laws, including two important central laws before 2019, were not applicable to the Scheduled Tribes and other traditional forest residents (recognition of forest rights) Act, and Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 J&K.

Now, these laws have come into force and the tribal community has been empowered. He said that we are providing all constitutional guarantee and security to the members of the tribal population, including access to justice by providing them free and competent legal aid.

In his address, the Lieutenant Governor spoke on the major initiatives made by the J&K administration to ensure ease of justice for members of the armed forces and reiterated their commitment to provide legal assistance to the tribal community.

“Rules 2020 has been amended to include Secretary, Zila Saikik Board in J&K Legal Services Authority, Rule 2020, which is as a member of the District Legal Services Authority to provide legal assistance to the soldiers.

In addition, the Lieutenant Governor’s Sainik Sahanta Center has been established and it is a dedicated institutional mechanism to facilitate the redressal of civil complaints faced by the soldiers of the Indian Armed Forces, which are posted in Jammu -Kashmir, or who are serving in other parts of UT and currently serving in other parts of the country.

The Lieutenant Governor emphasized that the delay in justice means that the moral duties of the legal service officers at the ground level involved in helping the disadvantaged and weaker sections means the defeat of the moral duties.

The Governor of Lieutenant said, “I am confident that in this important conference, with the solution of the challenges faced at the district level, the necessary intervention will also be discussed to make common citizens aware of their rights under the Constitution,” Lieutenant Governor further said, “

On this occasion, a dedicated legal service scheme was launched for Nalsa Veer Parivar Sahayat Yojana 2025, defense personnel, ex -servicemen and their families. The scheme provides for installing clinics of legal services within the state and district military boards, which provides assistance to legal services and Veer Parvar.

Various initiatives including defense personnel case management system also started in this event; Special Samvad legal units for tribal communities; Center for Legal Services in UTS and District Sainik Welfare Boards in UT districts of all states and UTS and District Sainik Welfare Boards; Unveiled people and tribal kiosks at Leh Airport; Mobile Medical Camp for the tribal population of Ladakh.

Certificates of engagement as paragraph legal volunteers by legal service officers of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh were also handed over to Veer Naris and east-soldiers.

Former Chief Judicial, Service and Retired Judge, Senior Officers of Legal Services Officers, security forces, police and civil administration, Veer Naris, ex -servicemen, members of the legal fraternity, and prominent citizens of various fields of life were also present.
