Srinagar, June 26: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha held a meeting with political leaders in Raj Bhavan Srinagar today and discussed the preparations for Shri Amarnathji Yatra, which is going to start from July 3.
The meeting was attended by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah; Sat Sharma, Dr. Nirmal Singh and Kavinder Gupta (BJP); Tara Chand and Ghulam Ahmed Mir (Indian National Congress); Shokat Ahmed Mir and Jagdish Singh Azad (National Conference); Mohammad Yusuf Tarigami (CPIM); Sajad Gani Lone (J&K People’s Conference); Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari (J&K his party); Iltja Mufti (PDP) and Hakim Mohammad Yasin Shah (J&K People’s Democratic Front).
The Lieutenant Governor shared the dedicated efforts made by Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board, Administration, Jammu -Kashmir Police, security forces and all stakeholders for the safe and successful conduct of the sacred journey.
“Baba Amrantyth’s blessings, and important promotion for essential facilities and services, promise to be memorable and spiritually enriched for devotees. It will also mark the beginning of a new chapter for Jammu and Kashmir”, Lieutenant Governor said.
The Lieutenant Governor welcomed the suggestions and inputs received from senior political leaders and demanded their cooperation to make the journey more convenient and free from troubles for devotees.
“The leader of all political parties is a member of the Jammu and Kashmir family and I believe that the pilgrimage is the socio-cultural responsibility of this family for Shri Amarnath ji. We should walk on the shoulder with a resolve to welcome all the devotees and make Shri Amarnathji Yatra a big success,” said the Lieutenant Governor.
The Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah and all senior leaders reiterated their commitment and assured every support to the holy pilgrimage.
Shri Amarnath ji Yatra is woven in the overall culture of Jammu and Kashmir and is also important for the economy of the region. The smooth and successful conduct of this holy pilgrimage is our common responsibility, he said.
Senior leaders also urged the people of Jammu and Kashmir to warmly welcome devotees and play their important role as key stakeholders in the journey.
Condemning the Pahalgam terror attack, political leaders said that the way the Kashmir Valley, despite their political ideologies, came on the streets against terrorism, sent a strong message to the opponent that violence has no place in our society.
