LG flagged Haj pilgrims from Srinagar International Airport to the first batch of Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar, May 04: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today flagged off the first batch of Haj pilgrims of the Sangh region of Jammu and Kashmir from Srinagar International Airport.

The Lieutenant Governor interacted with the pilgrims and gave his greetings and best wishes to fulfill a safe pilgrimage and actually spiritual experience. He prayed for the peace and prosperity of J&K UT and the good of all one.

“I take my heartfelt greetings and pilgrims to take a holy Haj pilgrimage. The divine pilgrimage is a call from the Almighty and a nurtured and a life -long dream. The central government is committed to ensure the best possible arrangement for the good of the pilgrims and their sacred pilgrimage,” said the latent governor.

This year, about 3622 pilgrims from the center region of Jammu and Kashmir will perform Haj pilgrimage. Srinagar International Airport is scheduled to operate 11 flights between 4 to 15 May 2025, providing 242 Haj pilgrims from J&K and 242 from UT of Ladakh.

Haj pilgrims will be received in India’s Consulate, Ministry of External Affairs, Goi, Jeddah. The Lieutenant Governor also recognized and appreciated the support by all stakeholders for the successful organization of the holy pilgrimage.

Omar Abdullah, Chief Minister; Longj Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary; Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir; Vidhi Kumar Burdy, IGP Kashmir; Akshay Labra, Deputy Commissioner Budgam and J&K HAJ Commission members, senior offices of the Airport Authority, Civil and Police Administration were present on the occasion.
