British And Irish Political leaders discussed AI’s ability at a conference in CO Down on Friday.
The 43rd meeting of the British-Aylish Council (BIC) focused a special focus on Artificial Intelligence, which was established as part of the Good Friday Agreement.
The leaders discussed AI’s ability to increase cancer screening and help to solve the challenges of aging population.
In a press conference, which dominates issues including race riots Balimena And inheritance issues, political leaders were asked about the danger for AI.
Irish premiere Mitchell Martin stated that he had a “glass half full” approach to AI and technology, but said it would “change the nature of the work”.
“I remember when I was a young, emerging politician in the 1980s, I picked up a book on the bookshell called The Jobs Crisis by the Late Kolm Keen.
“In that book, he was predicting that we would have to train and educate for the holiday, that best, we would work for about three days a week due to the technical revolution that was going to happen then.
“And then Jack Charlton took over the Irish (football) team, and we did it very well in Italia 1990 and the Irish economy flew, and many more jobs came into the stream.
“I am not getting outspoken, but I am careful with the Prophet of doom about technical changes.
“We have waves of technological changes throughout the history that have changed the nature of work, but have really created new opportunities for a variety of work.
“So I will become a glass-haf-full person here, which said that different types of works will be done.”
Northern Ireland First minister Mitchell O’Neel said that governments would need to work with trade unions to “take workers with us”.
“It is of advantage, and it has to help. It may not be a replacement for what we do traditionally,” he said.
“Some examples we have cited today are around breast screening and how it can be efficiently done with AI supporting a person.”
Northern Ireland Deputy First Minister Emma Little-Pengli said that the AI was developing on a “remarkable rate”.
He said that he needs to “seize the opportunity” while knowing about risks and moral concerns.
“The reality is that the AI revolution is happening. We cannot ignore it,” he said.
“This is why Mitchell and I have made the AI unit right at the center of the government to see how we can use that capacity, especially in public services.
“We need our public services to be more efficient. We need to increase that productivity.
“But yes, you are absolutely perfect. For a lot of people, there will be a fear that it is about changing people with that technique.”
He said: “It is not just about getting rid of people and making them meaningless. It is about improving things and exploiting an agenda that is happening at this time. We cannot deny that reality.”
Scottish first minister John Swine One of the challenges facing Scotland is the size of its working age population.
“So clearly there is a debate that we are engaged in the importance of migration, because we give importance to it, and we think it is important.
“We have lost a lot of opportunities for this due to Brexit.
“But what AI provides the ability to do, for example, to address certain limitations and restrictions of our working age population, to enable us to meet the need and demand within society, especially in relation to some innovations we talked about reducing demand on health screenings and AIs in relation to the use of AI and to fill the provisions in relation to initial intervention.
“There are many challenges that will come in governments, one of which will be deployed by morality and AI, but they also collide with other issues such as our working -age population -shaped challenges, which, for Scotland, is a very important strategic issue that we are trying to address.”
Representatives of Northern Ireland Secretary Hillary Ben, Ireland’s deputy premiere Simon Harris and governments of Wales, Jersey and Isle of Man also attended the conference in cum down.
Mr. Martin said that the relationship in the islands is in “a good place”, but to the benefit of all can be done to deepen cooperation and unlock the ability “.
