President Joe Biden trails arch-rival Donald Trump in six of seven swing states ahead of the upcoming US election in November, according to new polls.
A survey conducted by the Wall Street Journal showed that voters are generally dissatisfied with the national economy and have deep doubts about Biden’s ability and job performance.
Trump leads by 2 to 8 percentage points in six battleground states: Pennsylvania, Michigan, Arizona, Georgia, Nevada and North Carolina. However, Biden leads Trump by three points in Wisconsin.
In every state in the survey, negative views of the president’s job performance outweighed positive views by 16 percentage points or more, including four states where the gap was more than 20 percentage points. By comparison, Trump only received unfavorable job reviews during his time in the White House in Arizona, where negative ratings outnumbered positive ratings by 1 percentage point, the Wall Street Journal reported.
Trump and Biden are neck-and-neck this fall, according to data from Real Clear Politics, which tracks all major national polls. An average of major national polls shows Trump leading Biden by 0.8 percentage points.
