A huge house fire broke out in Georgetown on Friday morning, indicating a significant damage to three houses and a large emergency response.
Holton Regional Police Service (HRPS) said that the authorities were sent to a house on Argellan Drive at around 4:23 pm after reports of residential fire. On arrival, the first respondents surrounded a house completely in flames, quickly spread to two adjacent residences with the fire.
All the residents of the affected houses were safely vacated. A person was treated for minor injuries, but has not suffered any serious injury.
Employees of the Halton Hills Fire Department worked to include the blaze, bringing it under control after several hours. Officials confirmed that the fire is not considered suspicious, and there is no sign of criminal activity.
Ontario Fire Marshal (OFM) has been called to investigate the cause of the fire. The HRPS remains on the view to assist in traffic control in the area.
Officials are urging the residents to avoid the area around the Arbergonon Drive, while the investigation is on.
