Mokama (Bihar), Nov 3 (IANS) Union minister and senior Janata Dal-United leader Rajeev Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh has alleged a deep-rooted conspiracy behind the murder of Jan Suraj activist Dular Chand Yadav and claimed that his arrested party’s candidate Anant Kumar Singh will win the Mokama seat with an “overwhelming majority”.

In a special conversation with IANS, Lalan Singh said, Anant Kumar Singh will win in Mokama and he will win with a huge majority.

Terming the incident as “well-planned and pre-planned”, he claimed that the entire incident involving Anant Singh was part of a conspiracy; This didn’t happen on its own. Lalan Singh told IANS, “Sometimes incidents happen spontaneously, but this was clearly planned. Several videos show that this event was deliberately staged.”

He said a police investigation was underway and “the truth will soon emerge”.

Calling upon JD-U workers to remain united, Lallan Singh said, “We must keep our morale high and respond strongly to this conspiracy. Those who have hatched this conspiracy will get their answer when you stand together, press the ‘arrow’ button, vote for Ananth Babu and strengthen the hands of Nitish Kumar.”

On October 30, Jan Suraj supporter Dular Chand Yadav was shot dead during a clash between rival groups while campaigning for the assembly elections in Mokama. The incident sparked political outrage and leaders from various parties condemned the violence.

Mokama has long been known for its “bahubali” politics, dominated by leaders like Ananth Kumar Singh and former MP Surajbhan Singh. This constituency is once again at the center of political headlines in Bihar following the murder incident, which could heavily impact the voting dynamics.

JD-U has fielded Anant Kumar Singh, while RJD has fielded Veena Devi, wife of former Mokama MP Surajbhan Singh. Both belong to the influential Bhumihar community, setting the stage for a high-stakes clash of legacy and muscle power in one of Bihar’s most volatile but crucial seats.

Voting will be held in the first phase in Mokama on November 6.

Taking aim at RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, Lalan Singh said, “His entire family – father, mother, brother, sister – all are involved in corruption. He has grown up in the lap of corruption. How can he be projected as the young face of Bihar? He is a product of corruption. Whatever wealth Lalu Yadav acquired – who benefited from it?”

He also mocked Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi’s recent visit to Begusarai, where he was seen fishing in a pond.

“He came to Bihar, went to a pond and started fishing. It’s all a drama – a photo opportunity,” Lalan Singh told IANS.
