Officials of a local government in Lagos state have been accused of carrying out a fumigation exercise on immunization day without prior notice.
Twitter user, @BusayoOtebata who shared video evidence to corroborate the claim, said the officials of Egbe Idimu LCDA who allegedly lied about telling those present to leave their area within an hour, carried on with the fumigation even with nursing mothers and their kids present.
The Twitter user also claimed that they rough-handled and threatened to lock him up for making the video. He tweeted;
“I took my sister and new born baby for immunization at the primary health care center in Isheri roundabout(Alimosho) today and all of a sudden these government officials came in and started fumigating the whole area without any prior notice to the mothers coming there.
”They started chasing all the mothers out of the building and were still claiming right that they told everyone to leave in the space of just (1hr) which they didn’t tell anybody about but kept on with work without considering the Health of the toddlers inside the building .
“I was rough handled while trying to make a video of the whole incident but luckily for me I didn’t get any injury and they also threatened to lock me up for making videos of what they were doing.
“My chest is also paining me cause I might have mistakenly inhaled their nonsense chemical but I’d go treat myself now and I will definitely be fine.”
