Leh, July 28: The administration of the Union Region of Ladakh has constituted a high-level committee to investigate issues related to the Nator land and review the Ladakh Autonomus Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Act, 1997.
The move followed the instructions from the Union Home Ministry through a letter on 17 July 2025.
According to an order, the committee was led by Sanjeev Khirwar (IAS), Principal Secretary, UT of Ladakh, and three other senior officers -Michael M. D. D’Souza (IAS), Qureshi Tariq Mahmood, and Rigzin will be the heads of Spelgon (JKAS).
They have been given four weeks to study land issues and suggest reforms.
The committee is expected to submit a detailed report covering Naotor land affairs and recommend amendments to the LADC Act to strengthen the local government.
It will also be supported by the sub -aids, Lahdc Leh and CEO of Kargil, and Assistant Commissioner Revenue of both districts.
