The body of a 40-year-old daily wage laborer with his throat slit and a broken leg was recovered from a pond in Rajasthan’s Baran on Tuesday, a police officer said.
Based on the complaint of the family of a laborer named Om Prakash Bairwa, a case of murder has been registered at Baran City Police Station.
The officer said the motive behind the crime is not yet known and police are investigating the matter.
Bairava, a native of Atru in Baran district, lived with his family in the city and worked as a labourer.
He left home on Monday evening and did not return after that.
The police officer said that passersby saw his body lying on a dry pond with his throat slit and one leg broken.
The official said that the body was handed over to his family after post-mortem.
