Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir has extended the tenure of Professor Nilofer Khan as the Vice Chancellor of Kashmir University after successful completion of his early three -year term.
Prof. Khan, appointed on 19 May 2022, made history as the first woman to lead the institution in her 74 -year history. His leadership has been marked by significant academic and administrative initiatives during the last three years.
The expansion was approved by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, who serves as the Chancellor of the University. This decision is seen as the support of Prof. Khan’s contribution to the academic progress and institutional reforms of the university.
University officials welcomed the move, expressing confidence that extended tenure would allow continuous implementation of major initiatives and educational programs under its leadership.
Pro-Khan is a prestigious academic in the field of home science and has held several important positions in the university before his appointment as the Vice Chancellor.
