K’Taka Govt unveiled a Leap program of Rs 1,000 crore to facilitate innovation across the state

Bengaluru, 22 September (IANS) The Karnataka government has unveiled a local economy of Rs 1,000 crore to run innovation across the state and to catalyze development from Bangalore.

On Monday, according to an official statement of the Electronics Department, IT and BT, the program aims to promote innovation, make five million jobs, and to create strong startup ecosystems in Karnataka beyond Bengaluru.

Electronics, IT, and BT Department, detailed on its local economy accelerating program (Leap), with an ambitious outlay of Rs 1,000 crore in five years.

While Bangalore is a global technology hub, the worldwide number 10 in the worldwide and startup genome 2025 report in the Start Opported 2025 Index rank the number 14 globally. The leap as an initiative is about the overall, statewide development, the statement states.

Acrop Caur, Government Secretary, Electronics Department, IT, BT, and S&T, highlighted the strategic design of the program.
