Bengaluru, 24 September (IANS) Karnataka BJP on Wednesday staged a statewide protest against the Congress -led government and the infrastructure of insufficient road.
Party MLAs and leaders staged protests by blocking arterial roads for one hour.
BJP state president and MLA by Vijayendra said, “Mr. Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivkumar, who is in charge of Bengaluru, the Bharatiya Janata Party is today protesting against the pit-hit roads and is starting the heat on its government. Protests, protest, and you will see a clear picture of public outrage, ready to bury the government suffering from your pit, which is made in many pit.”
In the Kemp Gowda ward in Yelhanka Old Town, Bangalore, this protest was organized by the BJP, condemning the Congress -led government in the state, which is to carry out poor and unscientific unnatural functions, resulting in pits on all the roads in the component. The protesters alleged that many road accidents were more fatal.
The leaders blocked the road and also carried out a pit-turning campaign led by the MLA of SR Vishwanath, Yalehanka Assembly Constituency. A large number of BJP leaders and constituency workers participated in the campaign.
Jalehanka MLA Mr. Vishwanath, who led the protest, demanded that the pit be filled immediately on the streets. He alleged that the Congress government in the state has indulged in corruption and carried out unscientific and poor asphalting works, due to which the pits on all the roads in the constituency have already appeared.
A road blockade protest was held by the BJP near Kantirwa Studio in Mahalakshmi Layout in Bengaluru, condemning the state government’s negligence.
Former MLA Nl Narendrababu, Chairman of Bengaluru North District S. Harish, State Media Cell’s co-contestner Prashant KD, and party workers were present in protest.
Narendrababu said that vice -president Shivkumar himself had said that the city had 10,000 pits and demanded that the repair should not be limited to statements and should be urged to take action from authorities and engineers to get out of their AC rooms and to save people’s lives.
S. Harish criticized the Congress government and said that he does not have the money to fill the pits in 28 assembly constituencies of Bengaluru. He said that the dye CM DK Shivkumar had claimed that Rs 1,100 crore was released to repair the pit and questioned which pits were actually filled and where they are. He insisted that the government provides an account of funds worth Rs 1,100 crore.
As part of the protest, including the BJP seeking repairing the poor condition of roads across the state, the Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly R Ashok and other leaders will also protest in the Basavanguri Assembly Constitution area.
