Vijaypura (Karnataka), 19 September (IANS) Karnataka Police investigated the case of SBI Bank robbery from Chadchan in Vijaypura district, in which the accused looted Rs 1.4 crore in cash and 20 kg of gold before this week, which had abolished a bag for the past.
Vijaypura Superintendent of Police (SP) Laxman Nimbargi said that the bag, which was part of the looted gold and cash, was seized from Hulajanti village in Solapur district of neighboring Maharashtra.
A bag was found on the roof of a dilapidated building in the village.
Expanding the sequence of incidents, from which recovery took place, SP Nimbargi said, “The police department formed eight teams to investigate the SBI Bank robbery on 16 September. Three armed robbers have threatened the bank employees and the public and threatened the public before avoiding the Rs 1.4 crore cash and 20 kg of sleep. The investigation is coming out of all angles.”
“Within 90 minutes of the incident, the vehicle used by the robbers to escape in Maharashtra was taken to Huljanti village. The car was found with an accident, after which one of the robbers argued with the villagers. At that time, they threatened the locals and included the police team, shook 21 packets, shut down 21 packets.
He also said, “The investigation was intensified after this development. With the coordination of the Solapur police, barricades were built around the village to prevent robbers from escape, and a search operation was started. On Thursday evening, the police recovered a 6.54 kg gold bag packed in 136 packets. There was also about 1.3 lakh cash.”
SP Nimbargi said that the police teams are making tireless efforts and the accused will be arrested soon.
Earlier, the police had said that the robbers equipped with country-made pistols, threatened bank employees and customers, looted cash and gold, and took them into bags.
According to the investigators, at around 4 pm on September 16, one of the robbers, wearing a mask – entered the bank and stayed inside until his colleagues arrived.
It is suspected that he was visiting the bank for a few days to inspect operations and identify major points.
On September 16, around 6 pm, the gang hit.
While two robbers waited out, others tied the hands and feet of employees and customers inside the bank before committing the robbery.
