Officials have identified a Brezen shooting suspect who killed a woman in Hamilton city last week and injured a man.
In a news release released on Sunday, police said an arrest warrant has been issued for 17 -year -old McLe Lavoi. He wants two cases of murder and attempt to murder a second degree.
At around 5:25 pm on July 11, police alleged that Lavoi faced a group of three people in the downtown core, which was a shooting targets of shooting.
Police said, “The male suspect set fire to a person, killing a person,” the police said. “As they continued shooting at another person, an innocent man -26 -year -old Belinda Sarkodi was killed in a manner.”
The authorities described the initial view of King Street East and James Street North as “chaotic and disturbing”.
Police say a white man was rushed to the hospital with non-janlevas injuries to a gun pellet wound. A second hunting – Belinda Sarkodi – was also located nearby with more serious injuries.
“Despite life -saving efforts, he was declared dead on the spot,” police said.
At a press conference held on Saturday, DET. SGT. John Obrovac told reporters that Sarkodi recently arrived in Canada from Ghana in 2024 and was living in Hamilton region and working.
“Belinda was an innocent, just going about his day,” he explained. “At the time of the incident, she was spending time with a friend in the downtown core.”
Investigators say Sarkodi has a brother who lives in Manitoba, but there is no other immediate family in the province. In Ghana, his next-jaw has been informed about his death.
“At this time, we believe that the suspect would go to the male victim and target him, although the motive has not yet been determined,” Obrovac said. “There is no information to suggest that the suspect and Belinda Sarkodi were known for each other, or were targeted.”
The police is now on hunting for 17 -year -old McLay Lavoi which remains extensively.
Officials warned, “The members of the public are urged not to contact him.” “If you look at McLay Lavoi or know about its whereabouts, please contact the Hamilton Police Service immediately.”
