King Charles, Princess Kate’s priorities collide despite shared health struggles

Despite their shared battles with respective forms of cancer, King Charles and Kate Middleton’s priorities couldn’t be more different.

The 75-year-old monarch recently returned to public duties two months after announcing he was suffering from an undisclosed form of cancer.

Meanwhile, the Princess of Wales is taking some much-needed time out to recover privately from the illness, borrowing support from her husband Prince William and their three children.

talking to sky News, newsweekChief royal correspondent Jack Royston highlighted the difference in approach between the king and his daughter-in-law when it comes to the things that matter to them.

“I think it probably forced them to really think about what matters,” he said. “And in the case of Prince William and Kate, I think part of what matters is really focusing on them as a family… that family time, their kids, being there, slowing down And taking care of yourself.”

“In the King’s case,” he continued. “I mean it’s inspired him to focus on his desire to be king. He’s done almost the exact opposite when faced with such a terrible diagnosis, I think it’s really reminded him that What he really wants to do is work.”
