Britain’s King Charles III will not perform any royal duties for a month as he recovers from prostate enlargement surgery, media reported on Sunday.
The 75-year-old King was “doing well” after being treated for an enlarged prostate after being admitted to hospital on Friday morning.
He underwent surgery at a London clinic and remains in hospital.
Queen Camilla visited her husband again on Sunday, and he continued to rest at a London clinic after undergoing treatment on Friday.
She said the king was “doing a great job” and there were reports he visited his daughter-in-law, the Princess of Wales.
Princess Catherine is also recovering at the same hospital in central London after undergoing abdominal surgery last week.
Sky’s royal correspondent Laura Bondock said the king will now enter a “period of recovery”.
She added that he would be able to handle state affairs while hospitalized and the red box with government documents after discharge.
The king last performed private duties on Thursday, arriving in London from Norfolk to prepare for surgery.
King Charles, who only inherited the throne 16 months ago, had to cancel pre-surgery activities as doctors urged him to rest, but the exact nature of the treatment was unclear.
The king has been staying at Sandringham Royal Estate and completing a number of duties there before traveling to London on Friday for a medical procedure.
A Downing Street spokesman said Prime Minister Sunak wished King Charles “all the best” and a “speedy recovery”.
The King was diagnosed with the benign condition after being tested for symptoms during a stay in Birkhall, Aberdeenshire, on January 17.
It is said he wanted to share the news to encourage other men to check themselves out.
