Harry’s spokesperson confirms there will be no Harry-King meeting during the trip

King Charles III’s decision not to meet Prince Harry during his much-anticipated visit to Britain has underlined the importance of his strong bond with Queen Camilla, making a pardon for the duke less likely.

It was confirmed yesterday that the two will not meet when Harry is in London this week, citing the King’s commitments.

A spokesperson for the Duke of Sussex confirmed the news, with Buckingham Palace declining to comment further on the visit.

Speaking to GB News, the King’s former butler Grant Harrold said: “None of it really adds up. And as we know, the palace hasn’t actually commented on what Harry is doing.

“Obviously, there have been comments from spokespeople, but there is no clear indication of how this relationship is progressing and it is sad to see it break down.

“As I’ve said before, I keep hoping that this relationship will be fixed one day, but as time goes on I’m beginning to wonder if this is a relationship that can’t be fixed.”

Asked if comments made about Queen Camilla could be a factor in Harry’s book, she said: “Oh, absolutely. I mean, you can’t put something in a book and make comments like that and expect everything to be OK.

“It’s interesting because, again, it’s very confusing to me because I always thought they all got it, it doesn’t mean those thoughts and feelings weren’t there, it’s totally possible, but It’s just that I personally never saw any of that.

“It’s very sad…this is a family that is no longer as united as it used to be.”

Of King, the 46-year-old said: “I have no doubt at all that as far as that is concerned, he would be devastated by the fact that that relationship is not what it used to be when I was there.

Yesterday a spokesman for the Duke of Sussex said Harry was “understanding” of the King’s busy diary and his inability to meet this week.

He said: “In response to the many inquiries and continued speculation over whether the Duke will meet his father while he is in the UK this week, unfortunately due to Her Majesty’s full schedule this will not be possible.

“The Duke is certainly understanding of his father’s diary commitments and various other priorities and hopes to meet him soon.”
