Kia India delivers 71 specially customized Carens to Punjab Police

Punjab Police has received 71 uniquely customized Carens MPVs kia India.

Displayed as a purpose-built vehicle (PBV) at the recently concluded Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024 in Delhi, Kia Carens will serve as an emergency response vehicle (ERV) to provide timely assistance to citizens.

Kia has officially entered the PBV market with Carens designed specifically for the Punjab Police. The automaker claims that the vehicle is designed to bridge the gap between the various mobility needs of professional organizations across the country.

The Kia Carens customized by the Punjab Police is powered by a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 6-speed manual gearbox. The specially designed vehicle is equipped with custom high-intensity flashing lights and a public address system. The vehicle is equipped with a larger 60 Ah battery to power additional equipment.

The exterior also includes a “Call 112 – Emergency Response Vehicle” decal. According to Kia, the Carens’ connectivity features, larger wheelbase and improved third-row comfort make it the first choice for the Punjab Police.

At the 2023 Auto Show, specially designed Kia Carens made its debut as an ambulance and police vehicle. According to the automaker, this delivery reflects Kia’s goal to dominate the global PBV market by 2030.
