Kharge has confirmed to pledge to maintain unity on non -violence, peace day

New Delhi, September 21 (IANS) Congress President Mallikrajun Kharge said on Sunday that hatred and violence from Mahatma Gandhi’s timeless philosophy of ‘Ahimsa’ gives a measure to hatred and violence in the form of struggle and division.

He said that by marking the International Day of International Peace. In a post on X, Kharge said, “… reduce our world in the form of struggle and division, let us confirm our pledge to maintain peace, non -violence and unity. Gandhi’s timeless philosophy of non -violence provides a measure for hatred and violence – a citizen of India.

He further stated that the legacy of making India’s peace and dialogue champion reminds us that hugging diversity and promoting inclusive cooperation is the strongest weapon against war and inequality.

Kharge also shared a quote from Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India. “Peace is not a relationship of nations. This is a state of mind brought about a peace of soul.”

The International Day of Peace, also known as World Peace Day, is celebrated every year on 21 September. This day is a United Nations-Evolution followed which is dedicated to strengthening the ideals of peace between all countries and people.

The theme for 2025 is “Act for a peaceful world now”. It encourages immediate and concrete action from individuals, communities and nations to resolve global challenges and build a more peaceful world.

In a video message, United Nations General Secretary Antonio Guterres said, “Our warning world is crying for peace. Life is being separated, childhood is extinguished, and human dignity is left between the cruelty of war. Let’s silence the gun, afflict and build bridges. There is no peace.”

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also resorted to social media to congratulate people on this occasion.

He wrote on X, lax translated: “Heartiest greetings to the residents of the state on” World Peace Day “! Global peace and advancement of humanity is linked in the eternal ideal of ‘Vasudhiv Kutumbakam’, which leads to a conflict towards the solution.

The day acts as a reminder that peace is only more than the absence of war and also involves justice, equality and kindness for all.
