Kevin Hart has won comedy’s top award for his 25-year career in movies, TV shows and countless live performances.

The 44-year-old comedian and actor received the Mark Twain Award for American Humor on Sunday at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

When accepting this award, Jumanji “It feels surreal to be honored in this monumental year,” the star said in her speech.

He continued: “Comedy is my outlet for commenting on society and observing life. I am grateful to the Kennedy Center for recognizing my voice and impact on culture.”

To celebrate the momentous occasion, Hart’s wife Eniko and their four children: daughters Heaven and Kaori, and sons Hendrix and Kenzo were also in attendance.

According to the Kennedy Center website, the Mark Twain Award “recognizes individuals who have impacted American society in a manner similar to that of the outstanding 19th-century novelist and essayist Samuel Clemens, better known as Mark Twain .”

Previous winners of the prestigious award include Dave Chappelle, Tina Fey, Will Ferrell and Whoopi Goldberg.
