Kochi, October 4 (IANS) Leader of Opposition in the Kerala Legislative Assembly, VD Satheson on Saturday demanded a thorough investigation into the Sabarimala Gold dispute and called for accountability from the Devaswom Board and the State Government.
“We demand the resignation of the minister and the chairman of the Devsom Board, and urged to file cases against the current and former board officials, including former minister Kadakampali Surendran. To find out a CBI inquiry that it has also been done to find out the exact amount of gold,” Sathason said that the contributions of millions of devotees have been called.
Questioning about 30 kg of gold donated by Vijay Mallaya (1998), Satheson sought clarity on how much remains in Sabarimala.
He reported that gold was removed in 2019, including 40 -year -old warranty plates and reached Chennai after about 40 days, which highlights the ambiguities mentioned in the decision of the High Court of Kerala.
The agencies have claimed that only copper plates were moved, which means that the gold melted locally before the plates were sent.
Satheson criticized the Devasham Board for covering the loss despite identifying irregularities in 2019.
“, Annikrishnan remains questions about the role of Poti, as a sponsor and an intermediary, and why he was re -invited to Chennai in 2025, which despite the previous deficiency was to perform rituals on gold. The same person responsible for the missing gold is re -involved, who is a serious violation,” said that “said the Satson.
The leader highlighted the irregularities in handling the temple assets, including the movement of gate-gardian sculptures and pedestals at private places, and alleged that the authorities collided with middlemen to benefit financially from the temple money.
“This is not only about gold deficiency; it refers to a systemic failure and deliberate cover-up. The court-protected inquiry should determine the facts, the convict should justify, and restore the public trust,” he said.
He praised the vigilance of the High Court and demanded that central agencies investigate under the supervision of the court.
