Kasargod, 6 October (IANS) The controversial mime demonstration on the Gaza struggle at Kumbla Higher Secondary School in Kerala was successfully staged on Monday, despite the strong opposition from local BJP workers.
During the two -day Kalolsavam (Arts Festival) of the school, a display in Kerala started early on Friday.
On Friday, the incident occurred when a group of higher secondary students implemented a mime showing a humanitarian crisis in Gaza, including the death of a child during the Israeli bombing.
The students used a soft toy and a condolence Palestinian mother a picture, and displayed posters and flags of Palestine solidarity.
The protests were interrupted when a teacher reduced the curtain, motivating other students to raise the slogans of “free, free Palestine”, after which the teacher announced the cancellation of day events.
Reducing curtains led to protests by student organizations, including Muslim Students Federation (MSF) and Students Federation of India (SFI), which are growing in stressful situations.
Soon, when Kerala Education Minister V. When Shivakutty was informed about what happened on Friday, he immediately ordered an immediate inquiry, handed over to the director of public instructions to submit a report.
After this, Shivkutty said that Kerala is always standing strongly against the violence caused by Israel in Palestine. “Kerala stands with children who are being hunted in Palestine,” he said, emphasizing that students will be allowed to perform mime again.
On Monday, despite the local BJP protests outside the school, the protest proceeded, in which the administration’s commitment to ensure student expression and solidarity with Palestine was outlined.
“It is strange that whenever BJP raises issues, there is an outrage, but when others cross the line, there is silence. The freedom of expression seems selective,” said a local BJP leader during the protest.
The incident has ruled political tensions in Kerala over the expression of solidarity with Palestine.
