Kerala court convicts 15 people associated with PFI in the murder of BJP leader

A Kerala court on Saturday found 15 people guilty of murdering a BJP OBC wing leader in this coastal district in December 2021. The convicted men are linked to the now banned radical Islamic group, Popular Front of India (PFI).

BJP OBC Morcha State Secretary Ranjit Srinivasan was brutally attacked and murdered in his house in front of his family on December 19, 2021, allegedly by workers associated with PFI and Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI).

The judgment was delivered by the Additional District Sessions Court I, Mavelikkara. The punishment will be announced on Monday.

The BJP leader’s murder came just hours after SDPI leader KS Shan was murdered by a gang on the night of December 18, when he was returning to his home in Alappuzha.
