Keoti is one of the six assembly constituencies under the Madhubani Lok Sabha constituency, which is currently held by BJP’s Ashok Kumar Yadav.
Voting for the two-phase 2025 assembly elections in Bihar was held on November 6 and 11. The Election Commission will declare the results on November 14. Overall 66.91% voting took place in the state this time. Voting was held in the first phase in Keoti.
BJP’s Ashok Kumar Yadav had held the Keoti seat consecutively in 2005 and 2010, but in 2015 he lost to RJD’s Faraz Fatmi.
Later, BJP fielded Murari Mohan Jha from Kewati in the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections. Murari Mohan defeated RJD’s Abdul Bari Siddiqui.
A total of 10 candidates are in the fray from Keoti seat in the 2025 assembly elections, but the big challenge is between Murari Mohan Jha and Faraz Fatmi.
The ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is led by the BJP and includes Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s JDU, LJP (Ram Vilas), HAM and others. On the other hand, RJD is contesting the elections as part of the grand alliance, which also includes Congress, Left parties and VIP.

During the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, BJP’s Murari Mohan Jha defeated the then RJD candidate Abdul Bari Siddiqui by over 5,000 votes. The BJP leader got 76,372 votes with 46.75% vote share. Siddiqui received 71,246 votes (43.61%).
Earlier, in the 2015 assembly elections, RJD’s Faraz Fatmi had won by securing 68,601 votes (47.14%). He defeated BJP’s Ashok Kumar Yadav, who got 60,771 votes (41.76%).
