Kelsey Grammer Middle daughter Greer has revealed the “meanest things” her dad told her when they reconnected after 12 years of estrangement.

“I think I was about 19 when he told me this, and I started sobbing,” she recalled, “because to me, it was like the meanest thing you could say to someone, like… ‘I knew I wasn’t going to be in your life, so I told my mom it might be easier if you didn’t have my last name.'”
Still, Greer acknowledged Grammer’s advice was “fair” and said her father “wasn’t wrong.”
Grammer, 70, recently celebrated his Eighth child, son Christopher, with fourth wife Kate WalshOctober, 46 years old. The couple, who have been married since 2011, have three other children: Faith, 12, Gabriel, 10, and James, 8. He is also the father of daughter Spencer, 41, whom he shares with his first wife, Doreen Alderman. and daughter Mason, 24, and son Jude, 21, with third ex-wife Camille Meyer.
Greer further recounted their first encounter when she was a teenager. At the time, Grammer was living with Meyer and their two children in Malibu, and Greer was completing community service as Miss Malibu Teen at Malibu’s Christmas Tree Land.
“He came up to me and said, ‘Are you Greer?’ and I said, ‘Yes, I am,'” she recalled. “And he said, ‘I—’ and I was like, ‘I know who you are. Uh.'”
A week later they met for lunch. “That was the beginning of our relationship,” Greer explains. “It took me a few days to call him because my mom said, ‘Give them some time.’ “I was ready to call him that day, like, ‘Let’s do this.’ I have a dad now, wow! She was kind of like, ‘Take some time over the weekend to think about it. Let them deal with it as a family and then make the call. “
Greer confirmed that they are “on good terms now.”
