“I don’t have time for these things that people say or summarize off the record, or for any of this, frankly, Westminster bubble tittle-tattle.”
Ms Mahmood said: “If people have something to say, they should have the courage of their convictions and say it publicly, and that is not happening.

“Reform has no answer to this question, to the challenges facing this country,” he said. “They promote grievances. They want the problems to persist, and they are driven by a toxic division that will tear our country apart. So let me be really clear, there are two paths forward for our country.
Defending the plans, he said: “Patriotic national renewal with a Labor Party and a Labor government, driving down the cost of living and actually taking measures that are going to change the lives of millions of families, the difficult task of governing, or reforming and similar toxic divisions.
“That path is built on complaint, they have no serious answers, and it is absolutely vital that we expose them for what they are, which are snake oil salesmen.”
