Kate Winslet Hopefully his new film Goodbye June will give audiences the opportunity to have difficult conversations about loss and grief.

The Oscar-winning actor’s directorial debut follows four siblings (Winslet, Toni Collette, Andrea Riseborough and Johnny Flynn) when their mother (Dame Helen Mirren) takes an unexpected turn just before Christmas, forcing them to confront chaotic family dynamics in the face of potential loss.

Winslet told The Independent, “It’s hard to talk about loss and grief, whether it’s happened to you or not. It’s something that happens to all of us eventually. I hope it starts a conversation that people might otherwise struggle with.”

Goodbye June is in select UK and US cinemas from December 12th and on Netflix from December 24th.
