New Delhi:
In a comment to receive a strong response from New Delhi, Pakistan’s Army Chief General Asim Munir has said that Kashmir is the “jugular vein” of Islamabad and this will happen and Pakistan will not forget it “. He has also defended two-nation theory which was the basis of partition in 1947.
Addressing a gathering of Pakistanis abroad, General Munir said that he was the ambassador of the country and should not forget that they belong to “better ideology and culture”. “You must definitely tell the story of Pakistan to your children. Our ancestors thought that we are different from Hindus in every aspect of life. Our religion, customs, traditions, thoughts and ambitions are different. It was the foundation of two-nation theory that was laid.”
The two-nation theory was the basis of the movement demanding a separate state for Muslims in the years before independence. This movement led, among others, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, who became the first Governor General of Pakistan. The two-nation theory is contrary to the idea of a general history and heritage that India and Pakistan share, and also goes against the principles of secularism.
Emphasizing his point, General Munir said that India and Pakistan are two nations. “We are not a nation. That’s why our ancestors fought to build this country. Our ancestors and we have sacrificed a lot to build this country. We know how to defend it. My dear brothers, sisters, daughters and sons, please do not forget this story of Pakistan.
General Munir said that there are many fear that Pakistan will not get investment due to terrorist activity. “Do you think terrorists can take away the destiny of the country? 1.3 million-with the Indian Army, all its prostitutes, if they cannot scare us, do you think these terrorists can control the armed forces of Pakistan?” He said.
The head of the Pakistan Army also clarified that the armed forces would work hard on separatist movements in Balochistan. “Balochistan is proud of Pakistan, you will take it away so easily? You will not be able to take it to 10 generations. Inshallah, we will soon defeat these terrorists. Pakistan will not fall.” Speaking about Kashmir, General Munir said, “Our attitude is absolutely clear, it was our thunderous vein, it would be our juggular vein, we will not forget it. We will not leave our Kashmiri brothers in their heroic struggle.”
The Ministry of External Affairs has yet to respond to the comment, but given the nature of the statements of the Pakistan Army chief, a response is expected soon.
What does comment mean
For a country where politics is often faced under the leadership of the army, General Munir’s remarks put tone on many issues on many issues in Islamabad, especially its approach to relations with India. He reinforces the two-nation theory, underlining the feeling of belonging to Pakistanis to promote the spirit of national unity in a challenging time for the country. His comment also keeps the armed forces as the protector of Pakistan’s Islamic identity and sovereignty. Kashmir’s statements make it clear that the issue is at the center of the Indo-Pak struggle and Islamabad has no plans to soften its stand.
In Pakistan General’s comments, the anti-India sentiment can potentially deepen enmity between the two countries.
