Encounter between security forces and militants in Nadar, the trolley area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Avantpora are still going on, in the Inspector General of Police (Kashmir region) Vidi Kumar Burdi on Thursday confirmed after a fierce exchange of fire leaving three terrorists.
The IGP Burdi said, “Security forces got specific information about the movement of terrorists in that area (Nadar, Tall, Avtipora). Accordingly, a cordon was placed, and it led a encounter between the grip of security forces and terrorists. So far, we have observed three bodies of terrorists. The operation is going on.”
He said that the identity and affiliation of the terrorists has not been ascertained.
He said, “Identification and affiliation can only be divided after ending … This (encounter) is part of an all-out attempt to reduce that terrorist ecosystem.
Meanwhile, in a separate post on X, the Kashmir Zone Police said the search operation is going on, efforts are underway to confirm the identity and affiliation of the three terrorists killed.
Kashmir Zone Police said, “Three #Terrorists have been neutralized in Tral #ENCOUNTER. Identification and affiliation are being detected. Search operations in progress. Will follow further details.”
Asked if the terrorists involved in the encounter were hand in the terrorist attack, Kashmir IGP also said, “Operation has so far concluded. We will divide identity and affiliation (terrorists) only then.”
Earlier on Thursday, the Indian Army confirmed that three militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in Nadar region.
Chiner Corps of the Indian Army shared a post on X, “Three hardcore terrorists have been abolished in the ongoing operation at Nader, Avtipora. The identity of terrorists is being ascertained.”
Based on special intelligence input, a joint campaign was launched by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Nader area of J-K trolle on Thursday morning.
Suspicious activity was seen and challenged by the soldiers, the terrorists set heavy fire on the forces and received a fierce gun rains.

After the Pahalgam terror attack, in which 26 people including a Nepali National were killed, Indian forces have intensified their operations against terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir.
In vengeance for the terrorist attack, India launched Operation Sindoor, in which accurate attacks destroyed the terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan -occupied Jammu and Kashmir (Pojk) and abolished about 100 terrorist operators at major bases in Pakistan.
