And before you go I want to move on to a few other issues, and of course – mmm. We always talk about the conspiracy of the last 10 years against President Trump. Mm-hmm. Uh, and, and Russia’s collusion began with, uh, impeachment and impeachment and, of course, January 6th.
Does your investigation have any news for us on January 6?
I think you’ll see something on that front soon. As you know, we can’t disclose our ongoing investigations, and as they say, uh, things like Russiagate, Maria, probably no one has covered it better than you.
And look, I lived it. I was weaponized by the former senior leadership there as a victim against the politicization, weaponization of law enforcement, including the FBI, and I was the one who ran, uh, uh, and exposed the Russiagate, uh, uh, fraud and conspiracy, uh, in my House intelligence days.
Umm, I can’t speak to ongoing investigations, but I think you’ve seen reporting and thoughts in the media about what’s going on.
We will not allow anyone who participated in the Russiagate conspiracy or who in my opinion improperly and illegally spied on me, members of Congress, and even members of the media for political ends, to be spared. These are investigations that have significant consequences for the American public.
Deputy Director Bongino and I have been through this with you and everyone else, and we, again, ask you not to trust us, but look at the work we’ve done under President Trump.
We are going after every single person, from drug traffickers to those who become precursors to those people, most importantly to those who weaponize our law enforcement system.
You’ve already seen the impeachments of former Director James Comey and others like him, and our work is not done yet. Well, by the way, as you know, Comey is asking for all charges to be dropped right now.
So, the audience wants to know whether we will ever see accountability, director, and I know there is only a limited amount you can say about this – mmm-hmm. Regarding what will happen next.
There was a criminal referral for John Brennan. Are you confident we will see accountability? Yes, 100%. We are providing this accountability, but I would just remind the audience, and I think you know this better than anyone, they have built this weaponization plan over the course of more than a decade.
In these first 8 months that we’ve been there, we’ve already charged individuals, thanks to this great Justice Department, who were at the height of this weaponization of the government.
We’ve already turned over, by the way, Maria, James Comey has turned over over 3,000 documents to Congress for inspection. Christopher Ray exceeded 13,000.
Under our leadership this FBI has handed over more than 38,000 pages of information to the Congress for Congress-MM. The surveillance purposes that led to the accountability that led to those referrals back to us that we activated to the FBI.
Every single letter they send us – yes. This is an important referral opened by the FBI. Mr. Director, just to clarify, how many Americans were arrested in connection with January 6?
I know a lot of people have spent time in jail – mmm-hmm. As a result of January 6th, and you are investigating it thoroughly. There is a lot of speculation online.
We want to know who planted the pipe bomb. Can you tell us something there? And how many people were arrested on January 6?
Lots of. Uh, much, much baseless as a result of the weaponization of justice and the politicization of targeting supporters of President Trump. This was illegal and inappropriate, and we are working with the Deputy Director to expose it.
And as this relates to a major investigation of public importance like the Pipe Bomber, I say again, stay tuned. We’ve reviewed every single investigation with public consequences, reopened them, re-evaluated them, because we feel it can’t go untouched.
We will not let things stand like this and we will not let the fake news media dominate us. Our prosecutions speak powerfully in the courtroom.
If you don’t believe us, just look at the reaction that the Eastern District of Virginia under Lindsey Halligan gave to James Comey—mmm-hmm. And see the notes and publications of the evidence.
We have this type of material, but we have to protect our prosecution because the ultimate accountability lies with the verdict in the jury room. understood. Director, it’s nice to meet you this morning. Thank you very much.
