Karur Stamped: DMK Mouthpiece ‘Murasoli’ convicted the delayed arrival of Vijay, Theatrics

Chennai, 1 October (IANS) On Wednesday, in a rapid editorial, DMK newspaper ‘Murasoli’ convicted actor and TVK founder Vijay for a stampede on 27 September in Karur on 27 September, which claimed 41 lives.

The editorial accused Vijay of “irresponsible” and accused of failing to come on time and alleged that the disaster was deliberately extended by political spectacle.

“Who prevented him from arriving on time? Who prevented him from consolation to grieving families? Was it part of a calculated plan to prolong the expectation and prevent the crowd from spreading the crowd?” Paper asked, saying that the tragedy could be postponed with basic crowd management and timely attendance.

Rejecting the claims that a power cut triggers nervousness, Murasoli cited the Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation (TNPDCL) Chief Engineer Rajalakshmi, who clarified that the electricity was closed to remove only those audiences, which had climbed on a transformer and were reunited before the victory.

“Such rumors float for mask responsibility,” paper alleged.

The editorial also dismissed inadequate policing suggestions, given that permission was sought for 10,000 attendees, about 25,000 changed and about 500 police personnel were deployed – “more liberal ratio than normal”.

Reminded that Vijay had thanked the police for safety before his speech started. However, the actor’s late arrival – allegedly at 7.10 pm, eight hours after the supporters gathered – came under strong criticism.

Paper said that a slow -moving convoy from Vijay’s Tiruchi to Karur, refused to advise the police to stay outside the crowded site, and the decision to exit deteriorated the situation. Lack of drinking water and tiredness to wait for hours, combined with fresh cadre of other districts that retreat from the convoy, were quoted as factors that deepened the chaos.

Most of the victims were from Karur, Dindigul, Erode, Salem and Tiruppur. “It was not a DMK who delayed him. It was not the DMK who stopped him from comforting the condolences. Due to the creation of the conditions that was leading for the stampede, now it is as cruel to move the defect as cruel as the loss of life, the editorial concludes,” A body shroud could not make the truth. “
