Bengaluru, Nov 13 (IANS) Police on Thursday interrogated a man in Karnataka’s Tumkuru for over two hours, whom they said was a former terrorist, in connection with the November 10 car blast in Delhi. 12 people lost their lives in this explosion.
According to the police, former terrorist Mujahid was interrogated by Additional SP Purushottam at Tilaknagar police station.
After interrogation the police released him. Mujahid was accused of organizing a meeting for a terrorist organization. He was earlier arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and sent to Tihar Jail in Delhi. Police said, he had come out after being in jail for six years.
Police said he is now living in PS Colony in Tumakuru.
Police further said that he was interrogated in connection with the Delhi blasts and was released when it was confirmed that he had no role in the terrorist act.

At present the Karnataka NIA team is on high alert.
It is suspected that the main planner or mastermind of the Delhi blasts may have links or connections in Bengaluru. NIA officials, who are already detaining and interrogating some suspects, are now trying to find out if there is any evidence or information linking the Bengaluru network to the blast.
Sources here said that NIA teams in Karnataka have actively joined the investigation to uncover any possible link between the Delhi blasts and persons or activities in Bengaluru and other parts of Karnataka.
Officials are investigating this matter and Abdur Rahman alias Dr. Brave, who was arrested in Bengaluru, Karnataka on August 17, 2020.
Dr Brave, an MBBS student at Bengaluru Medical College and a resident of Basavanagudi, Bengaluru, was radicalized after listening to online lectures by radical Islamic preachers including ‘Anwar Awlaki’. Subsequently, he came in contact with other radicalized youth and traveled to Syria in December 2013 and participated in various terrorist activities of ISIS.
On his return to India, he remained closely associated with the ideology of ISIS and remained in regular contact with terrorist elements of ISIS in India and abroad. Using his knowledge of ophthalmic lasers and medical science, he led efforts to develop applications for ISIS medical and military equipment. He was contacting ISIS ideology promoter Jahanzaib Sami through a messaging platform named ‘Threema’. The NIA had investigated the case of Islamic State – Khorasan Province, registered in New Delhi, under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
