Hubbali (Karnataka), 30 September (IANS) in a bizarre incident, which surprised the residents and disturbed women, the Karnataka police on Tuesday arrested a person for stealing the old undergarments of women within the boundary of the Bendigari police station in Habbali city in Habbali city.
According to police, the accused had confessed to stealing women’s lingerie, which was hung outside the cloth during the night or to dry out of the houses inside the residential compounds.
The accused has been identified as Karthik, a resident of Tanthi Nagar in Hubbali. He was working in a sound system shop.
Investigations have revealed that Karthik will return the theft undergarments with them and throw it back into the compounds after about a week.
During a month, several reports of lost lingerie emerged from Veerpura Oni area. Initially, women believed that the undergarments were blown out of strong winds.
However, since the incidents became more often more wide and the clothes never fell on the ground or got stuck somewhere, as it was normally, if they were blown out of strong wind, the doubt increased within the communities that something frightening and distracted.
The suspected residents examined the CCTV footage after another incident of lost lingerie, who showed the accused stealing undergarments after climbing into their balconies or roofs, which confirms their worst fear.
The incident expressed considerable concern among local women, described as a psychological and distorted task. Comparisons were also designed for the infamous psycho-system Umesh Reddy, who was also known to nurse a similar fetish involved in women’s clothes.
Umesh Reddy is a notorious Indian serial killer and rapist who terrorized parts of Karnataka and neighboring states during the 1990s.
Following complaints from the residents, the police worked fast and apprehended the accused.
Police said Karthik had studied up to the 10th standard and demonstrated the same behavior as a distorted person. He specifically targeted only lingerie, which he would take to his pants pockets and carry the luggage.
Further investigation is going on in the case of lost lingerie.
