Bengaluru, October 30 (IANS) The BJP on Thursday accused Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of behaving like the district collector of Kerala’s Wayanad. It is noteworthy that Wayanad parliamentary constituency is represented by Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.

Opposition leader R. Ashok gave a statement, “Karnataka does not need a CM who bows down to the fake Gandhi family, spends our treasury like the ATM of the high command and forgets the farmers of his own state who put food on his table. We elected the Chief Minister of Karnataka, not a puppet of Delhi, not a brand ambassador of Wayanad.”

“Mr. CM Siddaramaiah, how long will Karnataka tolerate a Chief Minister who behaves like the District Collector of Wayanad and a fund raiser. You gave Rs 10 crore of Karnataka taxpayers’ money to Wayanad at lightning speed. You gave Rs 15 lakh to the family of a person killed by an elephant,” Ashok shouted.

Accusing CM Siddaramaiah, Ashok further said, “You announced to build 100 houses in Wayanad after landslides. You used Karnataka’s own tourism corporation, Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC), to promote Wayanad tourism – Priyanka Gandhi’s constituency.”

“But when it comes to your own people, there is no reaction,” he underlined.

Ashok criticized, “North Karnataka is sinking. Farmers are suffering and houses have been washed away and 12.5 lakh hectares of crop damage is reported. Compensation is still stuck in files, surveys, excuses, speeches and photo-ops.”

“Where is the compensation and flood relief for Karnataka’s Kalaburagi, Raichur, Yadgir, Bidar, Vijayapura, Bagalkot and Belagavi districts?”. Ashok asked a question.

Criticizing him, he said, “Where is the need? What are your priorities? You transferred the money to another state faster than you provided it to our distressed farmers. This is not charity. This is appeasement of the high command to save the chair.”

Ashok demanded immediate release of full compensation to the affected state areas and farmers. He urged CM Siddaramaiah to stop looting Karnataka’s money to please the fake Gandhi family. “Karnataka first. Not Wayanad first,” he underlined.
