On the occasion of the special edition of Fit India Sunday on Cycle-Kargil Diwas Special Ride, a participant named Shashi Prakash said that Kargil is a major achievement of India.
He told Annie, “Kargil is a major achievement in which Pakistan was defeated by our war heroes.”
The event fought in the Kargil war against Pakistan in 1999, honoring the bravery and sacrifice of Indian soldiers. The Indian Army’s “Operation Vijay”, marking a decisive victory, gained control of successfully occupied positions.
Asked what to do to get fit, he suggested, “Regardless of age, from 5 to 80 years, should participate in regular fitness activities from 5 to 80 years. Once a week, one should participate in activities such as Sundays and cycling on yoga.”
Another participant named Shekhar said, “If we remember the sacrifice of our soldiers, it will be a very good campaign.”
He advised people to ride bicycles to stay fit, as not everyone can do, so cycling is a favorite option.
Meanwhile, as the nation marked the 26th anniversary of Kargil Victory Day on Saturday, the Indian Army remembered it with seriousness, pride and nationwide participation, respecting the bravery and supreme sacrifice of the soldiers during the 1999 Kargil war.
According to a release of the Ministry of Defense, the central program was held at Kargil War Memorial at DRAS in two days and was attended by Labor and Employment and Minister of Employment and Sports Mansuh Mandavia; Sanjay Seth, Minister of State for Defense; Kavinder Gupta, Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh; And General Upendra Dwivedi, Head of Army Staff.
The occasion was marked by tribute to senior military and civil dignitaries, 545 lamps in memory of the fallen heroes, and the thunder of Veer Naris and his next family. In a poignant gesture of inclusion, the army reached the families of all 545 martyrs in the whole of India and Nepal.
