Hyderabad, November 4 (IANS) Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy challenged to lodge FIR by CBI in Kaleshwaram Irrigation Project case before 11th November.
Coming down hard on Kishan Reddy for not accepting the state government’s request to the Center to order a CBI probe into the Kaleshwaram project scam, the CM challenged the Union minister to file a CBI case against him.
He criticized the BJP for not registering a case by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) even three months after the state government decided to hand over the case to the central agency.
The Chief Minister was addressing a meeting as part of the Congress party’s campaign for the November 11 by-election on Jubilee Hills assembly seat.
Revanth Reddy reminded the Union Minister of his statement in which he had said that if the state government hands over the case to the CBI, former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) will be sent to jail within 48 hours.
He said, “It was the BJP which had alleged that Kaleshwaram was an ATM for the KCR family. Telangana Union ministers had also commented that if the case was handed over to the CBI, KCR and Harish Rao would be sent to jail within 48 hours. Now, the Central government took a U-turn and took no action despite the state government writing a letter to order a CBI probe.”
The CM also questioned Kishan Reddy for not approving the arrest of BRS working president KT Rama Rao in the Formula E race scam.
“Even after seeking permission from the Governor to arrest KTR in the Formula E race case, no response was received for two months,” he said.
He reiterated that there is a Fevicol tie between BJP and BRS.
Revanth Reddy alleged that BJP is indirectly supporting BRS in Jubilee Hills by-election and predicted that BRS will merge with BJP in the coming days.
He told that KCR’s daughter Kavita had revealed the proposal of merger of BRS with BJP.
The Chief Minister promised that the state government will allot 4,000 houses to the eligible poor in Jubilee Hills assembly constituency immediately after the by-election.
The Chief Minister claimed that the people’s government had given benefits of the welfare scheme, which included 14,197 ration cards, 200 units of free electricity to 25,925 families and 23,311 quintals of fine rice every month to the poor in the constituency.
