'I am the Spider of Guna-Shivpuri': Jyotiraditya Scindia of Madhya Pradesh

Union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, the BJP candidate from Guna in Madhya Pradesh, on Thursday said he is the “spider” of the constituency as he has built a huge road network there .

Scindia, while addressing a rally of Rawat community in Shivpuri, Guna, also asked people to ensure that the BJP gets 370 more votes in every seat than in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls so that Narendra Modi can be elected Prime Minister in his third term.

“Twenty years ago, when I resolved to embark on the path of devotion, I decided that if no one can solve your problem, Jyotiraditya Scindia will… I am the spider of Shivpuri. I have established a path here A network, a network of substations, a network of irrigation facilities and a network for the advancement and development of the people here…” he said.

“To make Narendra Modi the prime minister for the third time, we have to work hard to increase the (BJP) vote count by 370 votes per polling station,” he said.

The minister further said that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, several welfare schemes for farmers, women, youth and poor are underway, including providing free ration to 800 million people and the Ayushman Bharat health initiative.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi raised the slogan ‘abki baar 400 paar’. Under his leadership, Jammu and Kashmir abrogated Article 370. Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee (Founder of Jan Sangh) campaigned for the abolition of Article 370 370 have sacrificed their lives. The Prime Minister is working hard to make India a developed country by 2047,” he said.

Congress pitted former BJP leader Rao Yadvendra Singh Yadav against Jyotiraditya Scindia. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, then Congress candidate Scindia lost to KP Yadav. Scindia was defeated from his home turf by 1.25 lakh votes, triggering a series of events, including intra-party strife, that eventually led to Scindia quitting the party in 2020. He took away 22 MLAs, leading to the collapse of the Congress government. Led by Kamal Nath, who came to power in 2018. The BJP brought Scindia into Parliament through the Lok Sabha and appointed him as a Union minister.

The BJP has nominated candidates for all 29 seats in the state. Congress is yet to announce the names of Gwalior, Khandwa and Morena seats.

Scindia had started campaigning in the seat, which goes to polls on May 7, even before he was officially announced as the BJP candidate, and has been attending important events in different communities.
